About the Artist

John Lennon was born in Liverpool, England on October 19th, 1940. In his teenage years, he formed the band The Quarrymen with a few high school friends. Over about 4 years, they became the hugely famous band The Beatles.After the Beatles split up in 1970, he began a solo career. He released two albums, Plastic Ono Band/John Lennon and then Imagine. He released one final record in 1980, Double Fantasy. He was murdered in the lobby of his apartment building in New York City three weeks after its release.
